From the Head Teacher
Of course all our worldly efforts are nothing if we do not undertake them with the single minded intention of pleasing Allah (God Almighty). Oakwood is unashamedly a Muslim school which is founded upon the beliefs and etiquettes of Islam. We have dedicated specialist teachers for Qur’an and Arabic language and we try to be sure that all subject areas are taught from the Islamic perspective, with clearly made links to the knowledge and teachings of the Qur’an and hadiths.
More time is spent than in most schools on reading, writing and speaking because we believe these skills are the foundation of all other learning.
We offer great teaching and a personalised and varied curriculum giving your child the chance to explore science, sport, Islamic history, thinking skills and Arabic Language. We believe in building up each child’s ability to learn: their grit, spark, eloquence, expertise, craftsmanship and professionalism.
If there is one thing we believe in more than anything else it is that a school should be a place of joy, discovery, wonder and imagination with a stimulating learning environment and exceptional behaviour.
At Oakwood we believe in individual care and attention for all our children and visitors to the school are impressed by the friendly, positive and confident attitude of the pupils and the feeling of energy and purpose that permeates our school.
The experienced staff are caring and understanding, yet understand the importance of effort and personal discipline in helping children to attain the highest academic and social standards.
I very much look forward to meeting you soon, InshAllah.
