As-salamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatu,
Ref: World book day, Nursery – Yr6
What’s the most important trait you would like to develop in your child? If you’re like most parents, good Islamic knowledge/character and academic excellence is probably at the top of your list. We all want bright, smart children, which is why we spend so much time choosing the right schools and making sure teachers are exceeding expectations. But remember: as a parent, you have the power to boost your children’s learning potential simply by making books an integral part of your children’s lives.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform parents that the World Book Day is on Thursday 17th March 2016 and it will be a non- school uniform day. This year our theme is based around the Roald Dahl book characters, for this purpose children are able to dress up as a Roald Dahl book character.
Please see below list of Roald Dahl books, to help you choose a character your child/ren may want to dress up as:
- The BFG
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
- Danny, the Champion of the World
- The Enormous Crocodile
- Fantastic Mr. Fox
- George’s Marvelous Medicine
- The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me
- The Gremlins
- James and the Giant Peach
- The Minpins
All pupils will be given a £1.00 voucher to spend at participating book stores on Monday 29th February 2016.
If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office.
