Bank holiday
 
The school will be closed on Monday 28th May 2018 due to a bank holiday, school will resume again on Tuesday 29th May 2018 as normal. We hope you all have a good weekend InshAllah.
 
Last Ten days of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr Holiday break up – Friday 1st June 2018
 
We will be breaking up for last ten days of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr holidays on Friday 1st June 2018 at  3:30pm, school will resume again on Monday 18th June 2018 as normal, Insha’Allah.
 
We wish all our staff, parents, children and extended families a peaceful and blessed days of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. I hope you all have a good holiday break Insh’Allah.
 
Eid al Fitr Party/ Non – Uniform day for Years Reception to Year 6
 
I am happy to inform parents that we will be holding an Eid Party for the children at Oakwood for Eid Al-Fitr on Monday 18th June 2018 InshAllah.
 
We kindly ask Parents/Guardians to contribute towards the finger foods: cakes, crisps, samosa’s, pakoras, desserts and juices for the children to enjoy after their main meal. It will be a non -school uniform day, children can wear their Eid clothes and will be required to pay £1.00 for the non-uniform, please pay through parent pay by Tuesday 12th June. Please ensure the children are wearing sensible shoes on this day.
 
Parents should drop off Food/snacks in the morning to the school office on the day of the party.

I am happy to announce that we are supporting the Luton Foodbank. Luton Food Bank are running a food parcel campaign to help those families that don’t have enough to eat. From 29th May to 1st June 2018, Luton Food Bank will be collecting food items to pack and distribute to families who are struggling to make ends meet. Please support this cause and ensure no one goes hungry within our community.
 
We would like to request all our children to donate foods such as:
Breakfast Cereal (500g)          
Fruit Juice (Carton)
Sugar (500g)
Milk (UHT/Powdered)
Biscuits
Jam
Soup
Meat/Fish (tinned)
Vegetables (tinned)

Welcome to the Summer term.  

I am delighted to welcome you all back to the summer term 2018. At the start of the new term we particularly welcome our new children and parents who have joined Oakwood Early years and Primary school. We look forward to many years of happy association InshAllah.

 

Our school is committed to providing continuous professional development (CPD) for all our staff. Early years recently conducted a school training day on behavior management whilst primary staff concentrated on effective marking and feedback. All training has been delivered by qualified and certified personnel from Luton borough council.

 

I am delighted to welcome ustaadha Rahima Begum year 3 teacher who has recently joined us.

After school Quran Club

After School Quran club will not operate in the month of Ramadan, the last session will be on Tuesday 15th May and will resume as normal on Monday 18th June 2018.

 

Please note: Payment for After school Quran Club for May Only due to cancellation in Ramadan, payment has now been adjusted on parentpay. Payment will be £20.00 per child. If you have already paid in advance for After school Quran club May payment, we are happy to roll over your payments or alternatively arrange a refund. Please speak to the school office.

 

Changes to P.E lessons during Ramadan

The last P.E lesson at Stockwood Park will be on Thursday 10th May and will resume as normal at Stockwood Park from Thursday 21st June

 

Changes to Morning Quran Club classes during Ramadan

Morning Quran club will not operate in the month of Ramadan, the last session will be on Tuesday 15th May and will resume as normal on Monday 18th June 2018.

Sponsored walk/ collecting monies for the children of Ghouta in Syria

I am delighted to inform you that all our children/families have raised £1997.85 to help children in Syria. We greatly appreciate the hard work and effort put towards this event. All money raised will go towards helping the children of Ghouta in Syria through Muslim Aid who have assured me that they have people on the ground who will endeavour to deliver the aid inshAllah.

 

I thank you all again for all your assistance, support and well wishes.
