This past term, year five have been busy learning about the history of Anglo Saxons and their way of life in Britain. They even visited the British history museum. They enjoyed looking at the Anglo Saxon history, culture and exploring related artefacts.
We also looked at the properties and changes of materials in science. Students carried out exciting experiments with sand, rocks and coffee, to find out what was soluble or not. In Maths, we covered multiplication division and estimation. In English, we have been focusing on traditional tales. We have been reading The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Anne Duffy, which has inspired students to tell and describe exciting characters in their work. To end every week of this term, we carried out a hadith of the week. Students demonstrated their understanding of its meaning by incorporating its message into communities and school. It was lovely to teach our students the simple way to embrace Islamic values and add positivity to those around them.
