Women in History

In History this half term Year 5 journeyed through the ages as they explored the changing roles and rights of women from ancient times to today. Children learnt of the ways in which women have been oppressed and the ways in which they have fought for equality, including the militant campaigns of the suffragettes. Finally, Year 5 worked on a Role of Women in Islam project with a focus on the ‘Mothers of the Believers’. Year 5 presented their research demonstrating a greater love and appreciation of the greatest women in history.
